FAIRIES

History of Fairies

Fairies

These dream-like mini magical characters of mainly Celtic origin belong to the same mythological family as elves, gnomes, dwarfs, leprechauns, trolls, and goblins. Their appearance traditionally likened to that of tiny angels, the physical descriptions and many tall tales told about fairies often greatly vary among different periods and areas of local custom.

What is a Fairy?

The alluring folklore behind these enchanting imaginary figments is enough to fill volumes upon volumes of books. Whether we truly believe them to be tiny, winged and good-hearted, or we speculate that they might have the power to transcend and transform into any shape or creature, can only be decided once we know a bit of fairy history.
