killing us softly
today i watched a film called killing us softly and it brings up a topic that we desperatley must discuss. the film delt with how women are betraied in tv, maganizine and other ads. it is out right wrong and inmoral on how ads plotray sex, rape, and violence towards woman as an acceptable norm...i'm a little overwelmed right now so i will post more later but if you have any coments please post i think this is somthing that effects all of us...here is one example of a family game called code breaker...does this suggest family?

but it's not just being pried upon...we are dehumanizing women in general...try and think of a commercial that acctually portayed and foucused on a woman in whole personality and all...it's almost immpossible almost all ads show women as either a body part or other wise a "thing" a possesion or are shown in such passive positions that there made to look helpless and at the same time sexy...what message is that giving to young women...i'm not trying to blame advertising for violence i just think it should be brought to our attention...if any of you have time find and watch the movie killing us slowly and killing us softly 3 they will open your eyes

i'm not truley woried about anyone peticular on here most of you have very strong personalities and i don't think you would be influenced...i'm worried about the girls that don't know who they are or are critsied about the way they look...the ones that will turn to the ads...has anyone ever wondered why north america has the higest teen pregnacy rate?... one explanation is everything sold is sold with some kind of sex appeal...it's just plain wrong
