sunfyr (apears over the camp. lands. walks over to pounamu. nuzzles him lovingly.)

pounamu( stands carefully. moves away from the clutch.)

sunfyr ( settles with the eggs & dragonets. there are now 2,)

i dont know, he should be at camp still but he might have wondered off again

pounamu (looks at the 3 dragonets, & 2 unhatched eggs)* i will take these ones to the priestess at mating grounds. she knows how to care for orphan dragonets. rider, put them back in the bag, please.*

(watches dragons hero carefully putting the 3 dragonets in the sack.)

sunfyr (distressed) *beloved, no! you are not well enough to teleport!*

pounamu* what will be, will be.* (nuzzles sunfyr lovingly) *rider, farewell, my friend. look after her, for me* (takes the sack in his talons. looks sadly at his mate, and his friend. teleports, with the dragonets.)

sunfyr (weeps, knowing pounamu has given his life, to save the dragonets.)

[sunfyr the golden]

pounamu (arrives at the distant mating grounds, very weak.) *priestess, take care of them*

priestess: " dragon lord, all will be well. rest now, dear one"

[dragons hero]

*trys to confert sunfyr* its ok im sure hes been through more then this, he'll be fine

[sunfyr the golden]

sunfyr(weeps again. turns away from dragons hero.) * no rider, he was too sick. the venom damaged his heart. there is nothing to hope for.*

sunfyr( settles down, exhausted from repeated attempts to contact pounamu. sobs herself to sleep, knowing there is little chance that he had been well enough to survive teleporting.):(

*falls to the ground as he sobs*

sunfyr (sadly) *you loved the old fella too, didn't you, rider? *

Aye, he was a good friend to me and heroic and a good mate to you. *dips head*

*comes back with his leg all tied up and bleeding* aw man i feel bad...*sits down on the grass*

sunfyr (heals phil. settles down sadly. looks up into the sky, hoping it was all a very bad dream, & pounamu will appear, knowing it wont happen.)

sunfyr( lies curled in the snow unresponsive, eyes & scales dull. without pounamu, the will & desire to live has gone.)

*patts sunfyr* its ok, maybe his is still alive, i could scry him if you want?

sunfyr*looks sadly at rider. lies down again.*

thanks for healing my leg sunfyr...and it would be best to scry him i would say...

sunfyr*hears squeaking. interested she checks the last 2 eggs. the mother must have laid twice, for there to be a big delay in hatching! phil, are you ready to meet your dragon?*

*walks over* Well...I geuss...a little reluctant i am though but i will...*looks over with curiosity*

(the sack is empty phil. the eggs are under sunfyr's wing.)

sunfyr(shifts slightly, moves her wing, so phil can watch. the first egg splits open & a tiny silver male emerges. he rests, briefly, then looks around. seeing phil, he tries to stand, & squeaks at phil)

sunfyr *here he is phil. pick him up. you need to choose a name. i will keep him warm, but you feed & care for him*

[Philosipher]

(aw well,my bad,lol)

*walks over and picks him up and then winces in pain from his hand burning*

sunfyr* heals phil's hand. watches as a tiny blue female hatches from the second egg. looks up into the sky again. sighs & settles to sleep.*

[Philosipher]

*holds the silver dragon in both hands and then looks at his own*[a mark...now im a rider.]*grabs a piece of meat from his pocket and watches the dragon eat it hungrily*

sunfyr( wakes, hearing a dragon call. looks up. ) *heroic's back.* (looks again) *that dragon is too big to be heroic........that's not heroic or PP, it's........ (launches into flight)

[Philosipher]

*looks up* [what she say?] *gets up quickly scaring the silver baby a little* sorry about that.

[dragons hero]

*jumps up quickly and looks at the sky* [could it be........]

[sunfyr the golden]

(pounamu appears over the camp. scales glowing brightly. meets sunfyr. both dragons circle the camp & land. sobbing, sunfyr hurries over to pounamu. pounamu raises one big wing & pulls her close. )

[Philosipher]

*smiles* [good to see them together again...] *walks over slowly*

[dragons hero]

*smiles* your alive! *walks over to pounamus other side and patts his side seeing that all the scars are gone now* did you get healed at the mating grounds?

[Philosipher]

*walks over* nice to see your alive and well!!! and i got a suprise for you! *shows the emblem on his hand*

well we'll have to wait on your training, but yes you are a rider

*sighs* I didnt really want to like i said,but i geuss i have no choice now...do i? *gives the silver dragon another peice of beef*

pounamu (stances on bottom, holding sunfyr close, with wings & forelegs, pretty much how a human or elf would hold a loved one)

"i guess you both want to know." (sees rider & phil's expressions) "yes, i have the ability to speak now. yes, rider, i was healed at mating grounds. i arrived there, exhausted, & feeling a burning pain, one that i've never felt before. i could hardly breathe & everything went dark. i saw a beautiful golden light & wanted to go into it. i could sense peace, and an end to fighting. i saw a white dragon, and it told me to go back, it wasn't my time. i woke, & felt intense sorrow, & love. i wanted to reply, but couldn't. i slept. while i slept, priestess used her healing majic, which is very strong, stronger even, then sunfyr. after a few days, i felt well again. i wanted so badly to return, but priestess made me wait another day. today, she said i am well & strong enough to leave. i came as quick as i could."

(pounamu nuzzles sunfyr) *it's ok now beloved, i wont leave you again*

*scratches head* now you talk? *laughs* where did you learn that i wonder. *feeds the baby a little more*This isnt bad and all,being a rider,but i was fine being just another human.

*sighs and shakes head* no...I have no idea for a name to give any dragon...

its hard but if you hear some thing in your mind it your dragon, and try to talk back to it

pounamu; yes, he will grow bigger than you. while i was away, i rediscovered a skill that i have not used, for many years. sunfyr also has the same skill, that she has not used for many years. *ready beloved?* (sunfyr nods.)

(mikhael & angel settle down to sleep. it has been a long & tiring day. shifting uses a lot of energy, if it hasn't been done for a while. both have to remember different things about being human. it has been around 200 years, since either have shifted.)

mikhael (sits up, alert & watchful hearing noises. sees phil, dragons hero & heroic asleep. stands & takes a big sword seemingly from nowhere. quietly walks around, checking the camp. finds nothing, sits by the campfire.)

*sits up looking around for the walking noise* oh it just you......me and heroic are going for a quick flight around the spine.....unless you need me here

(angel wakes up. she & mikhael sit talking by the fire)

mikhael; i get the feeling dragons hero is uncomfortable that we shapeshift.

angel; he'll get used to it. we're still his friends, whether dragon or human.

(mikhael goes quiet, concentrating)

mikhael; orcs! i can smell 'em (grabs his sword)

angel (takes a sword from nowhere, prepared to fight)

mikhael; over there! (both run to the edge of the clearing & start fighting, killing all quickly.)

(angel cleans her blade, & returns it to where it came from. returns to camp & starts preparing a meal for everyone)

*hears the screams of dying orcs and has heroic turn back* [knew i should have stayed]

mikhael (looks up, sees heroic.) well that was a short flight.

angel (smiles) come & have something to eat, dragons hero

*nods as heroic glides down* looks good. have you cooked in human form before?

im not realy uncomfortable with it, i think its kinda cool *starts eating the food* mmm.. best food ive had in a realy long time.

mikhael; there are few shifters now, but when the child comes, it too will be a shifter.

(angel catches mikhael's eye, & smiles)

we have to decide if we stay in this camp, or move on. soon, it will be unsafe for angel to shift back to sunfyr.

uh well this is the safest place to have the child but if you want ill take sunfyr to the urgle village its safer there then any where else they know me as a friend and will let you in.

angel; well, if we are staying, we need to build shelters. i smell a blizzard coming. and no, my friend, i am fine to stay here in camp.

mikhael; she would not leave us "helpless males" anyway.

angel; why don't we build a shelter big enough for all? it would be much nicer. in seperate shelters, we may not be able to meet up with each other, if the blizzard lasts several days. and we need to gather plenty of food. (gtg bbl)

ok ill work on the shelter, and heroic can do the hunting, you two can do what ever you feel fit.

*walks off to gather wood for the shelter and heroic flys off to fide some deer and other food*

angel; (returns from the forest, carrying several large rabbits. also a sack filled with berries, mushrooms & edible roots. sees the shelter is nearly completed. dragons hero & mikhael are working on it together.)

*nods to angel and continues to work* [how gose the hunting heroic?]

angel *smiles happily at dragons hero* (settles & starts skinning some of the rabbits, with a dagger.)mikhael (lifts another piece of wood into place) this should be finished by nightfall. angel, how far away is the blizzard?

angel; about an hour. i can sense the atmosphere changing, and it will be a big one. (feels the child moving & croons softly as she works, preparing the skinned rabbits for cooking)

*frowns* well then we beter get moving then *puts peice of wood on the shelter*

*scratches head* [i cant think of any names!] *walks around in fustration*

pounamu ok little one, are you ready? (tharyan nods doubtfully)

ok, tharyan, first i will fly, while you ride, to get the feel of it. i will do a circut over the camp, so you can feel the turns, & then we'll get you to try. you will be ok, we'll keep you safe.

sunfyr (takes flight, waits while pounamu gently takes flight. watches as he does a circut over the camp)

pounamu well done little one. now we will let you try.(pounamu & sunfyr fly up to the cliff. sunfyr lands. pounamu lands back in the camp.)

sunfyr *ok tharyan, your turn. ( sunfyr takes flight, & hovers. tharyan launches uncertainly, steadies & follows sunfyr in flight, over the camp. both land. pounamu & sunfyr shapeshift back.

angel(looks up as it starts to snow.) we'd better get inside.

*picks Tharyan up and lets him on his shoulder*

angel; i know. (angel sits, with difficulty. leans against mikhael's shoulder.)

mikhael; i only hope the child does not come, until the blizzard is over. i would prefer that priestess was here to help.

angel; it will be as earth mother wills. the little one will come, when the time is right.

mikhael; hmmm with all the fighting & unrest in this land, i'm not even sure the time is right, for the child to come at all. (watches the fire for a while. looks down, sees angel is asleep. takes her back to bed.)

*wakes hearing mikhael's words ringing in his head. walks over and puts one hand on his shoulder*

maybe if we're not digging our way out. *fills a bowl with water and casts a spell and scrys the out side of the shelter* looks about 5 feet high.

angel (wakes, extremely uncomfortable. quietly, so as not to wake the others, goes just outside the door, for ritual cleansing & prayers to earth mother, even though it is snowing harder than ever. returns in to the warmth. pauses, just inside the door, waiting for the pain to ease again)

mikhael (wakes looks around) angel? (hurries over to her) beloved? are you ok?....... oh lord! is the child coming?

angel(nods)

mikhael (looks outside.) oh dang it! there's no way anyone can go for help, the snow is too deep, even for me to get out, & it's snowing too hard to be safe.... oh heck! we'll have to manage.... somehow.

*wakes up wondering what all the yelling is and walks over to the others*

is the child coming? well this is a bad time for that to happen *yawns*

mikhael: yea, it's a bad time, but there's nothing we can do about it. geldian, i may need your help, later. i have helped another woman, but it was a very long time ago.

angel; it wont be for a while yet. (closes eyes & grabs mikhael's hand, as the pain starts again)

mikhael; the main thing is to try to stay calm.it will help angel cope.

ok. well heroic can help if needed *walks over to a bed and gets the blankets off it and sets them near angel*

angel ( goes to the fire & starts preparing breakfast for mikhael,geldian & phil. cuts some fresh meat for tharyan. pauses.) ouch! that was stronger & closer.

angel; strangely enough, moving is helping a lot.

*grabs a slab of beef from his pack nad starts cooking some beef stew* ah, the food of men *laughs*

(angel leans against mikhael, exhausted. mikhael rubs her back, easing the pain.)

mikhael; it can't be much longer now.

angel; i hope not, i.....(gasping as the pain starts again, followed quickly by another).... ohhh blessed mother, please, i cannot take any more......... oohhhhh (starts bearing down)

(mikhael quickly grabs the deer hide angel has prepared & spreads it)

mikhael; heroic, can you come behind, & let her lean against you? (heroic moves. angel squats, bearing down hard.)

mikhael; nearly there dearest, i can see the child coming. (angel bears down again..... silence, then a cry is heard.)

mikhael; she's here, beloved. ( lays the child down. ties the life link between them with sinew. severs it quickly, and wraps the child in a rabbit skin)

mikhael; here she is.

angel; oh let me see (reaches for the child.)

(a little time passes. mikhael tidies up & helps angel to bed with the child. angel sleeps.)

mikhael; glad that's over. heroic, friend, do you like wine? (heroic nods. mikhael grabs a bowl & pours a generous amount for heroic.)

*knocks a tap into a barrle of beer, and pours a cup for mikhael* congrats my friend. *takes a long drink of beer, and looks at angel smiling happly*

angel (goes outside. looks toward the bush) if there is anyone out here who is cold, hungry, frightened & alone, they are welcome to come inside, where it is warm. there are friends inside, who will not harm anyone, and healers, if they are hurt. it is not really nice for anyone to be out in a blizzard.

mikhael * maybe when she feels safe & knows who ever did it to her can't find her, & hurt her again, she'll talk. i noticed yesterday, when i asked if she'd run away, she said nothing.*

mikhael (takes hold, tenses the muscles in his arms & pulls it down.) ok, now all you need to do is cut it up.

(after flying reconnisance flights, over the last few hours, pounamu & sunfyr have not found anyone, but sense there is someone "out there" somewhere. pounamu decides to stay in dragon form & guard, as his hearing is sharp enough to hear an ant fart five miles away. he prepares for a chilly night, & brings his body temperature up)

*yells in a shaky voice*heroic needs help hes out there bleeding bad just fallow my steps back all the soilders are dead!*limps back into camp with a half broken off spear in the middle of his chest and a larg gash on his leg..frist he falls to his knees then all fours and gives every one a slight smile and gose limp in the snow*
