As some of you may know (if not all of you), D&D fourth edition was recently released. It has received mixed reactions from just about all current D&D players. So, I want to know, what do you think of it?

I played 4ed before it even came out (D&D Convention had preview games). The combat system is totally different from 3.5 ... think of Dungeons & Dragons: Create Your Own Mini . . . they basically used the rules from the miniture battle game, and some MMO rules (like agro) and tried to mix that with a true roleplaying game. If I wanted to play a battle stragity game, I'd play either Warhammer or D&D Mini's . . . or chess. The game leaves pretty much no room for real roleplay - gathering information (not the skill with the same name, but actual roleplay) is done by a success/fail chart. WTF?

Alright, enough of my ranting, which is your favorite edition and why?
