This is an excert from the second book in my trilogy I'm writting. To give you some back ground I'll explain the characters. Clarence is the Crystal Prophet. He is half elf and half man and is at this point 54 years old though he appears only 20. Jessica is the Crystal Prophetess and Clarence's wife. She used to live in our world, but was brought there by the crystal shortly after she found it. Cavale is a black unicorn who has been carring Clarence and Jessica ever since Clarence saved his life.
Cavale's nostiles flared as he galloped at his full speed and Clarence was focused on the road ahead, to focused to notice the smoke rising above. It was a thick smoke, a black smoke, the kind you don't care to see. Jessica noticed it though, she watched swirl black ribbons around the sun. Without warning she hopped off Cavale's back. Immediately, Cavale notice the sudden lose of weight and dug his heels into the earth. Clarence and Cavale turned and stared at Jessica who was standing stiffed legged, piering off into the distances. "Jessica, what are you doing?" Clarence called, but she didn't answer. Cavale lifted his head and gave a long hard sniff, "Something's wrong," he mumbled. Clarence walked over to her side and gasped. There in the distance lay the city Mercom, burnt to a crisps. "Holy smokes!" exclamed Cavale. "I felt death this morning," whisper Jessica,"But were at war, so I never expected this!" Jessica paused, "Who could have done this?" "I don't know," said Clarence, tightening the belt that held his sword, "But I'm going to find out."
I wish I could write more, but I don't want my work to be stolen so please forgive the incovinence.
